Island Vacation Part Three - A tasty part

So while we were on the island Scott's Uncle George took us on a little winery tour of some of the great wineries of Vancouver Island. We also got a great tour of where George and his family lived while he was growing up. The island is such a beautiful place and its full of great places I would love to shoot. Here's a bit of our tour - sorry, we didn't bring any wine back to share. But we can't wait to go back so maybe next time.

Here is a beautiful shot at Echo Valley Vineyards
- I wanted to go see the horses

Beautiful pastures - the vineyards are just around the bend

A great little old buildingYeah - wine here we come A beautiful barn - not actually a part of the vineyards

This is the tasting house and restaurant at Zenatta's -the wine was excellent and the food smelled sooooooooo good

The Flowers on the restaurant tables were so cute

We also went to Merridale Cider and did the walk through the orchard-the apples on the trees were so beautiful

The apples on the ground were abundant and beautiful in their own way

Island Vacation Part Two

Okay so more about our island vacation: On Thursday we went down to Victoria and instead of venturing downtown to the harbour we decided to go the round about way. We went to Mount Douglas where you have a 360 degree view of the area. You can see all the way to the mainland and look out over Victoria. We also headed over to a beach that I think was called Willows Beach and it was reeaaallll puuurrrttttyyyy. Anyway, I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

Island Vacation Part One

Okay, so some time away is always great its just so darn hard to come back to reality. Scott and I went to Vancouver Island with his cousin Michael and wife Heather to see family in Duncan and Victoria--Thanks Aunt Ruth and Uncle George for the great stay. We had a great time full of beaches, mountains and wineries. I took loads of photos but don't think I'll be able to post them all at once. So one of our day trips was down to Victoria and it was jammed pack full of cool spots and awesome family but one of my favourite things were the self-serve booths at the side of the road selling dahlias. They were super cheap-only $3 a bunch - I could have bought the whole booth but they wouldn't all fit in the car. But here are some great photos anyway - the colours were amazing.
This booth was awesome and was on the main road off of Pat Bay Highway on your way to Butchart Gardens and Brentwood Bay. It was sooooooooo hard to choose just one bunch, each bunch was different but in the end we took a cool bunch home.

So many pretty flowers
Look at these colours-Wow!
See - only $3.00 bunch
If you ever get a chance - get flowers from here

These are the pretty ones I got to take homeLook at how intricate these are - amazing!

Beautiful Interiors

Last Spring I got the chance to photograph some beautiful interiors for Synthsis Design Inc of North Vancouver (Helps that by brother-in-law is one of their awesome designers). They have got their new website up and one of my favourite interiors is shown. It was a great house with an awesome japanese - west coast fusion, totally my kind of style. Check out their great work and this great house.

The last couple days and a summer memory

Over the last couple days I've been a wee bit pre-occupied so I haven't posted and I still even have some images in my camera that I haven't downloaded yet - yikes! Anyway, Tuesday we had a dinner at the in-laws and found out my little nephew had a bit of an accident. He accidentally fell off a swing and had to go to the hospital to get some stiches on his chin. But he was super brave and was an excellent little patient for the doctors. We got to give him some big hugs and took a few pics for the scrapbook. I'll post them soon so he can see how brave he was. We also got to see his little sister Anna who at 3 1/2 months can stand up (although you have to hold her she can actually hold herself up super well) - she's going to be a smarty pants too.
So for now here's the slideshow from the last month when we all got to go to Anvil Island for the day at junior girls camp. It's full of fun, lots of kids and lots of beach!!! I miss camp, hopefully next year, we'll be able to go.

A Bride in Australia

Well today I was thinking of my great friend Jessica Morris, now Jessica Leslie. She's one of my best friends and was an awesome bridesmaid for me at my own wedding here in North Vancouver last summer. This lovely lady found her man down under and they got married last spring in Australia. Unfortuantely I wasn't able to go but I was blessed enough to be able to take awesome bridals of her before she left because she bought her dress here and took it with her. She is so super photogenic and gorgeous that she is also the face of my business cards (which she hasn't seen yet) So, since I was thinking of my great friend I decided to post her slideshow of her bridal session. Once again, Congratulations Jessica and Dave. Missing you lots!

A Labour Day BBQ

Okay, so as part of my summer catch up I thought I'd post a few pics from our BBQ last monday at Scott's brother and sister-in-law's place, Kev and Bev. We met up with lots of the family and of course got to play with the twins - Jack and Amelia.

A Sunday Morning Photo Shoot

On Sunday morning I had an awesome photo session with the Dirom Family. They wanted to get some family and maternity shots before their third child arrives. It was such a blast playing with the kids and watching the whole family together that I could have stayed and shot all day long. Their little boy Scott even made me a special lego monster - how cool is that!? There were loads of great shots from the shoot but for now here are just a few of my favourites and I'll post the slideshow when it's complete. We'll get together again when the next little Dirom comes along and I can't wait - Best of Luck Dirom Family!

Catching up after the long weekend

So, it's Wednesday and I'm still catching up from our long weekend. It was a great one but a super busy one full of a full wedding on Saturday with "To Have and To Hold", an awesome photoshoot with the Dirom family on Sunday morning (will post photos soon), a great and long overdue visit with the Anderson's on Sunday afternoon/evening, and on Monday - some beach time and a BBQ with Scott's family where we got to see the twins (with more photos to post soon).

So out of all of this, I have some photos to post from our visit with Doug, Carolyn, Micah and Moriah Anderson on Sunday- although most of the photos are of Micah and Moriah. We haven't seen these guys since Moriah was born which was back in January so we couldn't believe how big she was - and SUPER CUTE!!! We had a great time and wish them all the best on their move back to Saskatoon.

A Week in Hawaii

Tuesday's are usually family dinner night with my husband's family but this week my wonderful in-laws are taking a break in Hawaii. We hope they're having a great time soaking up the sun and drinking pina colada's. Anyway, since we're not meeting for dinner tonight I thought that I'd post some fun shots from family dinner last Tuesday as part of my summer catch up.
