Lena and Jason are Getting Married!!!

On Friday Evening I got to meet up with Lena and Jason for their engagement shoot and we made our way through the alleys and streets of Gastown. It was fun finding colourful backdrops and graffiti walls to take photos against and we dodged traffic and snuck through restaurants for a few of them. We did manage to find quite a bit of lime green things to take pictures of, one of Lena's wedding colours, and discovered that a parkade is a great place for a photo shoot. These two are super fun to hang out with and are so cute together, they make my job pretty easy. I can't wait for their 08-08-08 wedding this summer. Thanks guys for the great time - hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

My Precious!!!

I got it and it's BEAUTIFUL!!!
The Canon 50 F1.2 has come to live in my camera bag FOREVER!!!

Fun in a New Backyard

Ken, Heather, Graham and Anna have moved into a lovely new home with one amazing backyard. Their new yard is so big it's like going to a private park and even has enough room for a big soccer game. Last night a bunch of the fam were hanging out at the new pad and I tested out my new lens on the kiddies. The light was amazing -yummy, golden sunlight. Here are a few faves and a fun slideshow complete with silly faces. (For all you photogs - all shots were shot at an aperture of F1.2)

We were all running around playing and then all of a sudden I noticed something in the grass... there was this little baby bird. At first I thought it didn't make the fall but then we quickly realized that it was alright. Ken came to the rescue and found a little shovel that we managed to get it to climb into. No one wanted to touch the little guy incase it's momma could smell us and would decide not to feed it. We found the nest in the giant tree/bush thing and Ken managed to get it back in - which was a miracle because this tree/bush has the sharpest needles on the planet. The little thing had a few more brothers and sisters in the nest too. Later we heard TONNES of chirping coming from the nest and figured they were all telling mom about their little adventure. Here's the little thing, it was so precious. Notice the shot with the shovel and how big Ken's hand looks.

The Shen Family

On Sunday morning, the weather was a bit dreary - somehow our nice promise of summer has disappeared but it turned out to be an amazing morning nonetheless. I got to hang out with the wonderful Shen Family - Rachel, Henry and the uber adorable Owen. We hung out, played with Owen's very own laptop, sung songs -some of my personal favourites, played with the Giant and adorable Nikki in the backyard and even sat in a laundry basket. This shoot was great not only because the Shen's are so loving and lovable but to watch the intense awe and concentration that comes out of Owen when he looks at his parents was very beautiful. That and focusing on only one child was a real treat. Here are just a few of my faves from this Sunday Morning shoot as well as their sneak peek slideshow. ENJOY and look forward to seeing you again in the crazy madness at Costco.

CONGRATULATIONS LISANNE!!!

On Friday afternoon I got to hang out with the lovely Lisanne and her amazing family to celebrate her highschool graduation. Lisanne is absolutely stunning and is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. I can tell she has amazing style and could have taken photos of her all day - especially in her gorgeous yellow gown. Her family and her handsome boyfriend were all so fun to hang out with and the love that is shared between them all is wonderful to watch - it truly was a proud celebration. I got to take some lovely Portraits of Lisanne, the lovebirds and the family and here are some of my favs as well as a sneak peek slide show of the afternoon. Thank you Lisanne, Vivianne and Martin for having me be a part of your celebration. CONGRATULATIONS!

The Atkinson-Church Family

I cannot say enough great and wonderful things about Jeremy and Christina and their wonderful daughters. Jeremy and Christina were my very first wedding couple almost 5 years ago and if it wasn't for them I may not have really discovered how much I love photography and gone down this road at all. I owe them a huge amount of thanks and have endless amounts of love for them. This morning was super great going over to hang out with them and the beautiful Maya and Norah. We had such a great time playing dress-up, climbing trees, going down the slide and of course, jumping on the bed. I took sooo many photos that it's been really hard just picking a few faves to show you but I hope you enjoy them and the slideshow.

This shot is one of my favourites - IT CRACKS ME UP!!!
The look on the cat's face is priceless.
