Snow Day II

It's Baaaaccckkkk!!! Last night we got another big dump of snow - over a foot, which is pretty unusual for us despite living in North Vancouver, in a valley in the mountains but generally we don't get that much snow. So far this year a few inches while other places, including higher up the mountain and inland, even in the city, have gotten feet's worth. I'm a wimp about snow because in Vancouver, despite it being Canada, we don't get a lot of snow - just a lot of rain - hence living in a rain forest. Usually we can boast about it sticking to the ski hills and then being able to run on the beach. And as proof as to how crazy this city gets when it snows, today a train has derailed, traffic is a mess, busses can't run up or down the hills near my house and schools are closed. I love our city! Anyway, It sure is pretty to look at and I love how it sounds when you go outside. The snow makes everything so quite, it's a special kind of quite it too -very peaceful. I just wanted to show you what happened to a little plant outside our door...

Sunday, when it snowed just a little
This morning...
And it's supposed to keep snowing today and into tommorow and maybe for the next few days. Should be fun to see what happens. As a kid I remember getting tons and tons of snow but in the last 20 years, not so much. I guess it's all a good sign for the winter olympics in a few years. Gotta run, if I get a chance to venture out and take more pics, I will.

Snow Day

Well last night the weather people were right and we got a dump of snow. We don't normally get a lot of snow, it tends to turn to rain quite quickly, but this year we've had quite a few days where it snowed and it has actually stuck. I really do like the snow (as long as I don't have to drive in it) and it's especially nice when the sun comes out. My hubby and I got up this morning, walked to our favourite breakfast spot for brunch and then took a stroll around the old neighbourhood. I couldn't help but take my camera and I love the bright coloured shots with the hits of snow - so pretty. Here's a bit of our winter to share with you all.

A Cute Little Bear

Some friends came over the other day and I just had to share with you the newest member of their family... Meet Bear. Isn't he one of the cutest things you've ever seen?! He kinda reminds me of an Ewok from Star Wars - I loved those things. Just thought I might share the little heartbreaker.

Yeah, Published Photos!!!

I am happy to announce that one of my great friends and most amazing photographers Janine Coney has had a wedding published in this year's issue of West Coast Bridal Guide. I had a wonderful time shooting with Janine at the wedding of Kristin and Sam on Saltspring Island last Summer. Kristin and Sam's wedding at Hastings House was so amazing and is evident by it being published. I am also happy to announce that in the spread are 3 of my photos (see close ups below). Janine and I love shooting together so be sure to check out our sites if you're getting married this year. Janine comes highly recommended as she was the amazing photographer for my wedding. Happy Magazine reading and wedding planning.
