The Yap Family

On Sunday morning I had a wonderful, wonderful time hanging out with Lucia, Albert and little Jayden. We planned to have a pretty casual session and I have to say this one was fun - lots of laughs. I love finding things that belong to each family and use them in the session and Lucia and Albert had a beautiful soft blue bench that I fell in love with and made for great photos with all of Jayden's colourful toys. Thanks for a great morning guys - enjoy this sneak peek.

This image CRACKS me up; there's a funny story involved. We were all doing A LOT of things to get Jayden to laugh and we were getting nothing from him. He didn't seem too impressed with me or any of us for that matter. I looked at him and asked him where his smiles went and all of a sudden he flashed this smile at us all so fast we barely saw it before he returned to his serious face. We all cracked up and then I laughed even harder when I realized I caught it. I've never seen a kid do this and it was the FUNNIEST thing.

Oh, and Jayden really likes looking at pictures of himself ;)

The Alexander Family

Start with a great family and their new house. Find a beautiful empty room with serene gray walls, gorgeous hardwood floors and perfect light. Add the cutest little one year old and her little green summer dress and TA DA... some of my favourite images of the year.

Thank you Alexander family (and Auntie C) for such a great great session.

The Thompson Family

On Thanksgiving Monday, while all the turkeys were roasting away in the oven, I got to hang out with the Thompson Family. It was so great to meet all of Diane's family, especially her two adorable girls who are so full of love and joy. I had a great time hanging out with the girls and their teddy bears as well as watch a little ferry dance around. Oh, and these two little girls have THE most amazing blue eyes ever - just stunning! Thanks for such a great session guys - enjoy your sneak peek of just some of my favourite images.

Happy Birthday Makena!!!

On Saturday I had the pleasure of meeting little Makena who was celebrating his first birthday. Unfortunately he was a little under the weather but was such a trooper none-the-less. We got to start the morning off with a few quick portraits and then it was off to an amazing first birthday bash complete with the Aloha spirit. For now, here are a few faves from the portrait half of the day. Enjoy!

New Orleans - Part 1

Well, I'm home! What can I say about 'the big easy'... First off, the architecture and colour is addictive and I could have shot a lot there. Secondly, Brad Pitt was there and I missed him =( Some people from the conference saw him on his bike, and then quickly saw the Paparazzi chasing after him. Though I didn't see Brad Pitt, I did see James Gandolfini from the Soprano's while eating lunch - he took special notice of us but I think that was because of our giant cameras. The workshop was wonderful and not only did I get to learn from those whose workshops I signed up for ( the Amazing Lena Hyde, Jesh De Rox and Jessica Claire) but also got to meet soooo many other amazing Industry photographers like Jerry Ghionis, Tamara Lackey and Joe Photo. I can't forget the amazing people I met in the workshops too who really helped to make the whole experience fun for me. It was great times and though I have lots to say I thought I'd move right into some of the amazing pics I got to take of our models while there (Since that's what most of you really want to see). Enjoy!

The first day I was in Lena Hyde's class and so we had a few moments to see how she works with children - aren't these two super cute. I L-O-V-E the red skirt, note to clients I am MORE than up for fun, flirty, girly skirts for your daughters.

This was a shot I quickly grabbed while walking through the lobby - two models are waiting for their massive group of photographers - SO BEAUTIFUL!

These are from the workshop with Jessica Claire. The first two were shot while Jessica was posing the couple and many of the rest were set up my moi and other members of our group.
